8th Grade Deception Pass Camp June 20-22, 2017
A camp meeting will be held on Tuesday May 30th
7:00 in the science room. Dan Bloedel will answer any questions and square away the chaperones and shoppers for the trip.
Mr. Bloedel has planned another exciting camping trip for our class! This year we will be going to the Nationally recognized Deception Pass State Park.
We will be tenting and cooking all of our meals within view of the pristine sand dune created lake.
We will be spending 3 days studying the marine environment. This area is a rich ecological area with calm bays, raging passages, sandy beaches, sand dunes, and even a trapped lake. Both Wednesday and Thursday will have negative tides that will allow us to closely study intertidal animal life (Crabs and sea anemones abound and rare nudibranchs and orange rubber worms might be found).
The cost for this trip will be $195 for transportation, camping, food for 6 meals and snacks, and materials for marine biology education.
Like last year's trip, we will again need parental help preparing for this camp as well as help as chaperones. Since Deception Pass is so close to Seattle, chaperones could come for the whole time or just for a day or two. If you know that you can help, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
