    Last Day of Book Fair

    Today is the last day of book fair, be sure to check out the selections and help us raise funds for the school library! The book fair will be open each day during drop-off, lunch, and pickup.

    2018-2019 Yearbooks is On Sale Soon

    Yearbooks can be purchased online through the Source beginning June 10! They are hardcover, cost $20 and will be distributed to students on Friday, June 21st. Sign into your student’s Source account and click on SchoolPay (sidebar left of the screen). Then click on the Yearbook option and pay with a credit card. You can also pay with cash or check in the cafeteria on the morning of June 21st. You can get more information about SchoolPay at

    TOPS Band and Orchestra Concert

    Join us for the final concert of the year on June 11th. K-3 students will sing in the morning with 4th-8th graders playing instruments. Music is themed around Hollywood Soundtracks from: “The Wizard of Oz”, Disney Classics, and “The Greatest Showman”. Daytime assembly starts at 9:40 AM, and the evening concert is at 7 PM. There will be concessions so please bring your money to donate. All proceeds go to Friends of TOPS who support the Arts at TOPS.

    Dine Out for TOPS at Pecado Bueno

    Final Dine out for TOPS on Wednesday June 12th at Pecado Bueno! Last time was a total blast, and it's predicted to be a sunny beautiful afternoon, so we can spill out onto the patio. Suggested donations for all you can eat taco bar are $10 individual and $20 family. Other snacks and drinks ordered separately. 100% of taco bar proceeds for Friends of TOPS! Let's turn out in force to make sure Friends of TOPS activities for '19-20 are fully funded. Thanks for your support, and for participating in these fun events throughout the year.

    Let’s Send Ms Cynthia Happy Retirement Wishes

    After 20+ years of being the K-3 art specialist at TOPS, Ms. Cynthia has decided to retire this year. She has brought her artistry, expertise and joy of creating to so many little ones through the years! Let's show our appreciation, celebrate her years of amazing service, and eat cake!

    Immediately after school on Friday, June 14th, we will meet by the art room (next to Ms William’s classroom). Bring a snack to share and some goodbye cheer!

    Middle School Play

    TOPS 6th and 8th graders will perform 4 plays all written by teens as part of ACT Theatre Young Playwrights Program. 2 plays with promotional sketches of the other plays will be shown at assembly on June 14th at 2:10pm and all 4 plays will be presented at the 7pm event. All TOPS students and their families are welcome and encouraged to attend! $5 Suggested donation at the door, NO ONE will be turned away!

    This quarter the plays include:

    Movie Night “Like”, Wednesday, June 19, 6:30 PM

    Join us in the TOPS Library for “Like”, an IndieFlix documentary exploring the impact of social media on our lives. The goal for this film is to inspire people of all ages, especially kids, to self regulate. It’s about empowering ourselves to create balance in our lives and learning to be there for each other. Funded by Friends of TOPS.

    There will be two showings:

    • June 19, 6:30 PM Family Screening Night in the TOPS library. All TOPS Families are welcome. There will be a panel of TOPS staff to answer questions after the film.
    • June 24 Students, grades 5-8 will have an opportunity to view “Like” with their grade-level peers at TOPS.

    Buy your TOPS LYFE (Live Your Future Earth) t-shirt! This t-shirt was designed by one of our 6th graders, Ida Seidler. It was chosen from 60 designs done by 6th graders in Suzanne's art class. The design shows your commitment to living for future generations by making lifestyle choices today based on climate science. Available in small, medium or large, for $15.     Get your Friends of TOPS Reimbursements In!

    Friends of TOPS (FOT) is getting ready to close the financial books on 2018-2019 school year. Please submit any requests for reimbursements for FOT funds (including Class Funds) by Friday, June 14. Look for the 'Friends of TOPS Reimbursement' button at the bottom of the Home page on the TOPS website, or pick up a paper form in the school office.

    Check Lost & Found Before School Ends!

    Is your child missing a sweatshirt, jacket, lunchbox or something else? Swing by the Lost & Found outside of the cafeteria to claim your belongings.

    Remember to Replenish Lunch Funds

    Parents, please remember to check and keep your student's lunch account replenished with funds as we have many students currently have a minus balance

    Box Tops for Education: No more clipping!

    Big changes are coming to the Box Tops for Education Program. Over the summer, you'll begin to see some participating brands change their packaging from the traditional Box Tops clip to the new Box Tops label. Going forward, instead of clipping from packages all Box Tops will be earned digitally by scanning your receipt with a Box Tops mobile app ready this summer. If you still have traditional Box Tops clips at home, be sure to send them to school. We will still earn cash for all clipped Box Tops until they expire. Thanks for helping our school get what it needs!

    Advanced Learning – Testing Opportunity

    Referrals for students in kindergarten through 8th grade, for the 2020-21 school year Advanced Learning Programs and services can be submitted from May 15 through Sept. 23, 2019, 5 p.m. More detail and instructions are available

    Not Attending Seattle Public School Next Year?

    Is your student moving out of district or going to a private school next year? If so, please let the district know ASAP. We know it’s hard to make that final decision to give up your place at TOPS, but we need an accurate student count to plan for the 2019-2020 school year. To drop your student from TOPS:Fill out Not Attending for 2019-2020 form online. Note: Do not fill out this form if your child is enrolled in another Seattle Public School for the 2019-2020 school year.

    Protecting Our Community from Measles

    Measles is a serious disease that is very contagious. Please monitor your child for symptoms including: fever, diarrhea, coughing, runny nose, red and watery eyes, tiredness with a rash that begins on the face and spreads. For more information in multiple languages see:

    The best protection against measles is the MMR vaccine, available from your healthcare provider, or at one of our 25 school-based health center sites for SPS enrolled students. If an SPS student contracts measles, the King County DoH has the authority to exclude the infected student, and students without immunizations from school. For questions about your child’s MMR vaccination status, contact your healthcare provider, or Health Services at 206-252-0750.
