    Falcon Families,

Today is Election Day. Today is a big day for our country.  I don’t believe I have ever felt this way on an election day-anxiously awaiting what the poll results will bring, worried what will happen post-election, wondering how our country will pull together.  Deep breaths!  You may feel personally connected to the issues and experience deep emotional responses to the outcomes. I hope you are finding ways to take care of yourself.  We know our students are watching the adults in their lives and are curious about the process and also invested in the results.

As your child’s principal I want you to know that together, we will create a safe, respectful learning environment this week – no matter the outcome of the elections.

This month our Social Emotional Learning theme is Courage.  Attached are parent documents from our elementary curriculum, PurposeFull People.  Also attached is Ms. Hanson's ppt from our curriculum night as well as a poster for talking to kids about the election.

Attached again below are the resources for you to use at home to help with conversations about the 2020 election.

Also linked below are resources to help parents/families working through the stress of the election.

This is a great Kid President video that just helps us stay positive and reminds us of how we can be heroes!

Finally, this is an unusual election season, and it may take longer than normal for the votes to be tallied. This may cause additional apprehension and stress for students and your family. Please take care of yourself and your loved ones. You can find health and wellness resources provided by trusted community partners here

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out directly to your child’s teacher or you can contact me at

    Stay safe and be well.
