Parents of Color Caucus (POCC)
The Parents of Color Caucus at TOPS K-8
Mission Statement
The Parents of Color Caucus is an organized body of parents and caregivers of color at TOPS K-8 School. The caucus serves to strengthen the voices and participation of students and families of color within the school. The caucus exercises influence in developing school policies, practices and procedures affecting students of color through representation on the Executive Site Council, the Building Leadership Team, and by working in tandem with the Racial Equity Team. The caucus helps to inform the TOPS mission of social justice by building the capacity of parents, caregivers and students of color to improve school policies and procedures for students and families of color at TOPS.
Vision
The vision for the Parents of Color Caucus is to center voices of color, creating a sense of belonging, success, ownership and preparedness for high school for students of color at TOPS. The caucus aims to create a space for productive dialogue concerning the school’s mission of social justice and provide missing feedback from families of color at TOPS.
Any parent or caregiver of color who wishes to be part of the caucus can join our email group.
